Beauty pageants are a lot scarier than they used to be. Whoever would have thought it would be so accurate? Beauty pageants are one of the fastest growing businesses in America grossing over 5 billion dollars (Coleman, Phyllis). The prizes differ depending on the size of the contest; radios, bicycles, grants, cash awards, trophies and tiaras are some examples. Beauty pageants are generally multi-tiered, with local competitions feeding into the larger competitions. The worldwide pageants, thus, require hundreds, sometimes thousands, of local competitions.




Beauty pageants are a program that is fun for adults, teens, and children alike. There are baby beauty pageants, teen beauty pageants and adult beauty pageants. Beauty pageants are a way for parents to pretty up their kids and child abuse is the opposite. I think that if the child does not want to be in a pageant and the parent is so competetive that the kid has to, then I believe it is abuse. Beauty pageants are not a test of intelligence. It's not a maths or science quiz or an intelligence olympiad.



Beauty pageants are looked at as the portfolio for the glamour world. While the images in the folio seem to be the picture perfect kinds, why is it that the negative of that photograph is always stained? Beauty pageants are a source for girls to look to and compare themselves to. There are just yo many negative results that stem from pageants. Beauty pageants are competition and performances that are wildly popular cultural events world-wide There are baby beauty pageants, teen beauty pageants and adult beauty pageants. These competitions are primarily on the physical or outer beauty of its contestants along with the contestants A beauty pageant does not only focus on physical appearance of the contestants but also on the overall personality, talent, confidence, emotional, social, analytical and mental skills.
